ICPI, Proof that Technology DOES give BACK... Over the years many including the government have told stories of technology “destroying” the environment, polluting our air with harmful toxins from factories across the globe and filling up precious plots of land with unwanted harmful waste. What have we done about it? Well there are the obvious factors such as the government regulation (WEEE) introduced to the UK in January 2007 which implements strict guidelines in to how small and large businesses manage and dispose of waste. A fact released in recent news claimed that businesses across the country are avoiding sticking to the compliancy by sending their “e-waste” to Africa with alarming figures claiming “half a million Pc’s arrive as waste in largos every month”. So how DOES technology give back? ICPI, a UK founded company specializing in repairing, remanufacturing and waste management of consumer electronics announced plans to achieve results by selling their clients waste to affiliated manufacturers across China & India to be reused in new products. Proceeds from the sale of their waste output would be donated to a registered charity of their client’s choice. Rishi Dhaliwal who also goes by the name of Ricki Dhal) founder of ICPI said: “The business provides essential services to AV suppliers & retailers across the UK and Europe. With the financial climate were currently facing the down turn has rippled its way throughout various markets & individuals certainly slowing down donations to charities. It’s a great feeling knowing that we can turn E-waste in to a positive subject & as a result being able help the less fortunate with donations. “ Rishi is said to be involved in many areas of the business world and aims to continue to take the technology industry by storm with know-how and innovative thinking.
